Circus 250 and performance festival at the V&A 27th- 29 April ’18

Satya Films is thrilled to be in partnership with the V&A –  the worlds leading museum of art and design –  in the build up to their performance festival.  Satya director, Sky Neal, will be designing and participating in panel discussions, screening her co-directed feature documentary Even When I Fall, and is creating a bespoke short film for the festival –  Beyond the Big Top: A glimpse into Circus in the UK.

Even When I Fall 

Satya films is currently releasing  Even When I Fall,  a feature length documentary directed by Sky Neal and Kate Mclarnon. Visit Even When I Fall  on this site for more details about the film and where you can see it. UK release in April with previews in March.

 

Back to Blackheath

Satya Films supported Snake Oil Media to create Back To Blackheath,  an inclusive dance film.  The project is a partnership between Greenwich Dance, Candoco Dance Company, Magpie Dance and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

Paradise Lost?

Satya Films created a video art installation piece that was projected onto the iconic Archway Tower, London, accompanied by dramatic live aerial performance. Part of A Million Minutes Festival. A collaboration between Satya Films and Scarabeus Theatre.

Interactive visuals and video art for aerial and dance piece based on the tumultuous marriage of  Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes. A collaboration with Floorless Productions and Robyn Simpson Choreography.

An artistic exploration into the relationship between the talking drums in Cameroon and the mobile phone. Created for the permanent Information Age exhibition at the Science Museum.

One of a series of films forming part of a nationwide project celebrating the 350th birthday of Mr. Punch in the UK.  Commissioned by the V&A Museum.

Nepals Lost Circus Children| 25 min doc | Al Jazeera English  (2011)

Producer / Director with Banyak Films.

A tense documentary for the People and Power strand. An NGO travels from Nepal to India to rescue six children trapped in a circus where they had been sold into slavery. This film shines a light on child trafficking between Nepal and India.
