Co-Director Kate McLarnon has worked since 2006 as an ethnographer and documentary filmmaker and holds a masters with distinction in Visual Anthropology. Kate’s work has been broadcast in the UK, shortlisted for BBC World Young Film-Maker of the Year Award, an IMTV Music Video Award, a Chime Communications Cymbal Award and she has had short films shown in galleries and festivals worldwide. She collaborates with anthropologists, journalists, artists, museums and charities, using film in innovative ways to express, investigate and create. As a director of Postcode Films in London Kate has worked with leading arts and research organisations in the UK and with Satya Films she directs her first feature.

Co-Director Sky Neal is a documentary filmmaker, visual anthropologist and creative educator. Since 2005 Sky has been creating  films – from short and long form documentaries to video art for live performance. Sky has 20 years experience in the circus and performing arts industry and worked professionally as an aerialist in contemporary circus. Human rights issues have become central to her work in all her roles. For the past six years she has spent much time in Nepal both as a filmmaker and creative consultant. She has worked extensively with vulnerable and at risk youth through film and social circus creative education programmes. Sky and Kate’s collaborative use of film continue to play a central role in the development of Even When I Fall.

Shakerifar_Elhum

BAFTA nominated Producer Elhum Shakerifar is responsible for funding, strategy… making sure the film gets made and that you see it when it’s ready! Her most recent production was multi-award winning A Syrian Love Story (Sean McAllister, 2015), which she distributed in the UK, and past film have screened at festivals including Berlinale, IDFA and Hot Docs, and broadcast internationally. Elhum is also a programmer, formerly of Bird’s Eye View Film Festival(spotlighting women directors) and currently with London Film Festival. She was Bechdel Test Fest’s inaugural Our Girl Friday for being a champion of women in film.

Editor Alice Powell

Editor Alice Powell has worked on a varied slate of documentary, fiction and artist film since graduating from the prestigious National Film and Television School in 2007. Her award winning work has been screened internationally at festivals including Berlinale, SXSW, Sheffield Doc/Fest and Hot Docs. She has worked with artists including Turner Prize winner Gillian Wearing and her most recent documentary, The Closer We Get by Karen Guthrie won the Best International Feature at Hot Docs and Best UK film at Open City Documentary Film Festival.

Choreographer and creative consultant Robyn Simpson   is an aerial, dance and circus performer and choreographer specialising in large-scale productions, including over 12 Opening/Closing Ceremonies. She has worked with Danny Boyle, Cal McCrystal, Tim Burton, David Shiner and Tom Hooper. Robyn has been a devising artist with Muse [2007-14]; choreographer of Special Events with Cirque du Soleil, and has a Masters of Fine Art in Choreography. Passionate about creative education, Robyn has consulted with government, schools, think-tanks, Olympic Truce Centre and on Olympic and Paralympic Games education programmes. She has been a part of the Circus Kathmandu journey since the beginning.
